The Marathon Sports Agency is a sales rep firm
based in Upstate New York, which has represented
sporting goods companies for over 10 years. Since
its inception, the agency has focused on the Golf
Industry. The mission has been simple - seek companies
who make high end, high quality equipment designed
for every level of player. This formula has proved
to be successful and has been a great deal of fun.
As the agency grew, we began to wonder what life
would be like representing other lines in other
industries - basically, we asked ourselves if the
grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
Recently, Our agency took the plunge. We delved
into the multi sport world. Being an avid runner
and Triathlete (as well as a tournament Golfer), the
decision to look into getting involved in
Representing companies in the multi-sport/
endurance sport industry was an easy one. Finding
lines was easy too. Finding the right lines was a bit
more of a challenge.
When we select companies to represent, we
typically look for high end/ high quality
manufacturers who are innovative and technically
advanced (read... "techie and cool"). Basically, we're
looking for companies who have a story to tell. In
the golf division, we found companies who are
leaders in the main category in which they compete.
In The Triathlon division, we had a bit more freedom
in that Triathlon is not as well known in this part
of the country. So, while the type of company is
still the same, we were also looking for companies
who were "aspirational". Companies who grace the
pages of all of the trade publications, and are very
well known in other parts of the country, but have
not found their way to this part of the country - yet.
We believe our world class line up is second to
none, and we think you will too.
